Ibrahim Maza has set an ambitious personal target for the season with Bayer Leverkusen. The 20-year-old forward believes 30 goal contributions are not impossible and wants to help the team win trophies.
Maza spoke ahead of Saturday's Bundesliga match against Augsburg. When asked if 30 goal involvements this campaign were possible, the Algerian replied, "It's not impossible." He had earlier stated he hopes to be dangerous both from the left and as a number ten. "I'm versatile and simply ready to play wherever the coach uses me," Maza said.
Maza is coming off the back of a 4-0 home win against Union Berlin. He was deployed from the left side in that match and impressed. Leverkusen's broad attacking threat is a strength this matchday. The young player stressed that the focus remains on team success. "I just hope that we can achieve our goals as a team, that we can win titles, and then we'll see," Maza stated.
The next target is the away matchday at Augsburg. Maza anticipates a different test compared to the Union game. "I think both teams have to have mutual respect for each other," he said.
