RB Leipzig arrive as the fifth-placed team, fresh from a 5-0 home win over Hamburger SV. The visitors have their own injury concerns, however. Assan Ouédraogo is out long-term, while Christoph Baumgartner, Marc Guiu and Rocco Reitz are not expected back until late September or later. The last meeting between the sides saw Leverkusen win 3-1 in Leipzig back in December 2025.
Sunday's match presents an opportunity to extend Leverkusen's positive home form. The club has won four of its last five matches at the BayArena.
