Bayer Leverkusen players had a good laugh at defender Loic Badé's EA SPORTS FC 27 ratings. The 26-year-old Frenchman, who expected an overall rating of just 66, was given a 77 in the new football simulator, prompting humorous comments from his teammates. The Werkself's reactions to the freshly released player data were shown this week. Xabi Alonso's team is currently fifth in the Bundesliga table with three points from two games and has already scored six goals this season.
Loic Badé's attribute ratings in EA SPORTS FC 27 are surprisingly high in some categories. His defending was rated 77, his physicality even 78. His dribbling comes in at 67. The centre-back scores significantly weaker in shooting (45) and especially pace (61). His passing accuracy is 57. The overall rating of 77 surprised the Frenchman himself, as he admitted. He had expected a much lower number. His comment on it was brief: "I prefer not to speak," he quoted José Mourinho.
The reactions within the Bayer Leverkusen squad were entertaining. Teammate Ibrahim Maza summed it up with a laugh: "Die killen dich, Bro," he said to Badé. The ratings of other players were also scrutinized. Edmond Tapsoba can have a defending rating of 82, while Jarell Quansah matches Badé's level in this discipline with 77. Nathan Tella, meanwhile, was puzzled by his own physicality rating of just 60 points. Quansah joked: "Die Gegner werden dich nur ganz leicht berühren und schon fliegst du davon." Tella himself said of his ratings: "Ich weiß gar nicht, was ich getan habe, um das zu verdienen." He found his dribbling rating of 80 and his gold card to be in order, however.
While there is laughter about video game ratings at the training ground, the team is preparing for its next task. On September 12th, they travel for an away match against FC Augsburg, who are currently in sixth place. In the Bundesliga, Leverkusen trails leaders SC Freiburg by three points. The goal difference after two matchdays is 6:3. However, the club currently has to do without several injured players. The injuries list includes Nathan Tella, whose FC 27 ratings just provided talking points, as well as Guéla Doué, Kennet Eichhorn and Montrell Culbreath. The current standings show the tight situation in the upper third of the table.
The official release of EA SPORTS FC 27 took place on September 25th. The publication of individual player ratings is a major media topic every year and regularly causes discussion and amusement in professional clubs' dressing rooms. The reactions of the Leverkusen players were also captured in a video. For the Werkself, however, the focus is now fully back on sport. The next Bundesliga game is important to keep pace with the top teams. Preparation for the duel in Augsburg is already in full swing, as the current fixtures schedule shows.
