Bayer Leverkusen kicked off their UEFA Europa League group stage campaign with a solid 2-0 victory over NK Celje on Wednesday evening. An early own goal and a late strike from Facundo Medina secured a deserved home win for the German champions.

Leverkusen took control from the outset and were rewarded in the 15th minute. A cross from the right was unfortunately turned into his own net by Celje's Svit Sešlar.
