Arsenal in talks with Bayer Leverkusen over Quansah
Bayer Leverkusen have held talks with Arsenal over a potential transfer for Jarrel Quansah. The 20-year-old England international is on the Gunners' wishlist, but the German club are unwilling to sell the defender. Liverpool, who sold Quansah to Leverkusen in 2023, have a buy-back option for the player.
Quansah has established himself as a promising young defender at Bayer Leverkusen. With his athletic build and defensive skills, he fits perfectly into Arsenal's system. The 1.88m tall defender played 34 Bundesliga games in the 2025/26 season and proved to be an important part of the team. Leverkusen finished the season in 6th place with 59 points (17 wins, 8 draws, 9 losses).
The departure of Quansah would leave a gap in the defense. With only 47 goals conceded last season, Leverkusen have one of the best defensive records in the league. Losing a key player could affect the team's stability. Leverkusen scored 68 goals last season and had a goal difference of +21.
